J.B. Pritzker Ad Encourages Voters To Read His Non-Existent Tax Plan

Is Pritzker hiding his tax-hiking agenda from the public?

Illinois Democrat gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker is once again hiding his tax-hiking agenda from the public, telling voters to go to his campaign website to read a “detailed” tax plan that curiously doesn’t seem to exist.

Pritzker’s new campaign ad reads on screen, “To see JB and Juliana’s plans go to JBPRITZKER.COM.” The ad touts Pritzker’s plan to pass a “progressive income tax” – a code word for major tax increases to fund new government spending. Pritzker’s running mate claims in the ad that they’ve proposed “detailed plans.”

But a trip to Pritzker’s campaign website reveals no such detailed tax plan. Now, Pritzker’s being called out for it.

Jim Day, a columnist for the News-Gazette, writes that Pritzker is offering “few specifics” and is being “vague” about his tax plan.

“…look for the Democrats…to be vague on the question of rates because to be specific would hand Rauner a tax-hike club he would use to beat them with. Demonstrating that point, Pritzker just released two more television commercials in which he endorsed the amendment without further elaboration.”

It’s becoming clear why Pritzker is refusing to release details about his plan – he knows that massive tax hikes, like the one’s he’s already been reported as favoring, are wildly unpopular with Illinois voters fed up with tax-hiking politicians. It’s further evidence that J.B. Pritzker is not ready for primetime.
