Under Failed Gov. Bill Walker, Alaska’s Unemployment Rate Remains Nation’s Highest

Alaskans are continuing to suffer under the failed leadership of “Independent” Governor Bill Walker.

Per The RGA:

Alaskans are continuing to suffer under the failed leadership of “Independent” Governor Bill Walker.

According to recently released unemployment numbers, Alaska’s jobless rate increased to 7.3 percent in January, remaining the highest of any state in the country.

Tragically, Alaska’s employment crisis is having a devastating impact on the state. Alaska’s population is now decliningfor the first time since the 1980’s, while enrollment in the state’s safety-net programs continues to skyrocket.

Unsurprisingly, Walker’s economy is attracting a great deal national notoriety, recently ranking dead last in the entire country.

Alaska’s economic problems are a direct result of Walker’s policy failures, including the state’s abysmal business climate, repeated multi-billion dollar deficits, and numerous credit downgrades.

Alaskans deserve a fresh start.

According to Must Read Alaska:

“Alaska’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased one-tenth of a percentage point to 7.3 percent, up from 6.5 percent in January of 2017. The comparable national rate for January was 4.1 percent.”
