Stacey Abrams to Spend BIG in 2022's "Most Expensive" Governors Race

Georgia's 2022 gubernatorial and senatorial races are expected to be the "most expensive races in the country"

Georgia's 2022 gubernatorial and senatorial races are expected to be the "most expensive races in the country," according to WSB-TV, and Democrat candidate Stacey Abrams is primed to raise tens of millions of dollars from both national and statewide donors. In fact, after announcing her candidacy in December, Abrams had already raised more than $9.25 million by the beginning of February, according to Newsweek. In April, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution talked about Stacey Abrams' massive fundraising from out-of-state donors:

"Stacey Abrams and U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock are expanding their donor bases far beyond Georgia to wage their Democratic campaigns...Abrams, who is running for governor, and Warnock both collected more than 80% of their campaign cash from out-of-state donors in the latest disclosure, which covered roughly two months for Abrams’ campaign and three months for Warnock’s bid....Abrams amassed $9.2 million in about two months, outdoing both Kemp and his Republican rival, former U.S. Sen. David Perdue. She collected nearly $2 million more in that span than Kemp did over a six-month period."

By March, according to Bloomberg, Abrams had already invested at least $1 million in TV and digital advertisements - and judging by her level spending (and fundraising) already, this figure will likely only increase as election day approaches. Per NBC News, Abrams even tried to change a Georgia state law so she could raise and spend unlimited campaign donations before becoming the official nominee - another indication that she plans to spend exorbitantly this year.
