Republican Governors Are Leading The American comeback

Election Day 2020 was HUGE for Republican governors around the country.

Election Day 2020 was HUGE for Republican governors around the country. In what was one of the most challenging political environments in recent memory, groups like the Republican Governors Association:

  • Protected all our incumbent governors - including Republicans in blue states

  • Held onto an open seat in Utah

  • Grew our Republican majority by flipping Montana from red to blue

Republican Governors Chris Sununu and Phil Scott both won their races by well over 25%, despite the fact that the DGA once alluded to these states as prime “pickup opportunities.” In Missouri, Democrats poured millions of dollars to elect Nicole Galloway, only to fail miserably while Gov. Mike Parson cruised to victory. And in Montana - a top Democrat target state - Greg Gianforte defeated Democrat Mike Cooney, becoming the first Republican to win the governorship there in 16 years.

Those are just a few of the highlights. By the end of the night, Republicans held 27 governorships around the country.

Republican governors are ready to hit the ground running. They’re pursuing bold, positive reforms in their states, holding the line against new taxes and regulations, and leading the American comeback. Onward!
