Radical Arizona Dem Gov Candidate David Garcia “Hands Doug Ducey A Gift With Call To Abolish Ice”

This is yet another instance of David Garcia revealing his deeply held fringe beliefs

The RGA writes:

Arizona Democrat gubernatorial candidate David Garcia appears to have committed a potential fatal flaw for his campaign this week by saying he wants to abolish ICE, says a new op-ed in the Arizona Republic.

Columnist Laurie Roberts writes that Garcia’s decision to join the radical “abolish ICE” movement, spearheaded by a New York socialist, is “crazy” and won’t gain “much traction with Arizona voters.” Garcia’s radical position stands in stark contrast to that of Governor Doug Ducey, who continues to work to keep Arizonans safe. Just yesterday, Ducey published an op-ed explaining why abolishing ICE would be a reckless decision.

This is yet another instance of David Garcia revealing his deeply held fringe beliefs. Garcia has already said he will support a radical environmentalist agenda to double the cost of monthly electric bills, and recently wrote on Facebook that his campaign was “built just like” the socialist campaign of New York’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

AZ Central: David Garcia Hands Gov. Doug Duce A Gift With Call To Abolish ICE

But on Monday, Garcia gave the gov a gift, joining the Democratic call to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

"Trump's immoral actions – which Ducey has enabled – demand that we rebuild our immigration system top-to-bottom and start by replacing ICE with an immigration system that reflects our American values, values I and so many before have served to protect," Garcia said, in a response to reports that migrant children were being held in a unlicensed office building in Phoenix.

So naturally, on Tuesday, Doug Ducey is out with an op-ed in USA Today defending ICE, calling out Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and others but curiously, not Garcia.

“As a border state governor who wakes up every day and goes to sleep every night with the safety and security of Arizona citizens at the top of mind, I want to be clear – this call to abolish ICE is not only wrong – it is reckless, and puts the people of my state and others in direct threat ...," Ducey wrote.

"Law enforcement isn’t the enemy — they are a lifeline."
