In case the contrast in the North Carolina governor’s race couldn’t be more clear, Democratic Governor Roy Cooper received an endorsement from far-left NextGen, a liberal group bankrolled by California billionaire and failed presidential candidate Tom Steyer.
Hiding behind rhetoric about getting college students involved in campaigns, NextGen is pushing an extreme agenda including:
- Defunding the police
- Enacting the Green New Deal
- Eliminating middle-class tax cuts
- Impeaching President Trump
The group announced they will spend $4.5 million to help elect Cooper to make their radical policies reality in North Carolina.
“The radical left is backing Governor Cooper because they know he will transform North Carolina into an unrecognizable liberal wasteland full of dangerous communities and higher taxes on working families,” said RGA Communications Director Amelia Chassé Alcivar. “It’s past time for Roy Cooper to come clean with voters – does he stand with his allies who want to defund the police and allow lawlessness in the streets, and is he willing to bankrupt North Carolina families and job creators with higher taxes and unaffordable energy costs? All signs point to yes.”
