Gov. Kay Ivey has produced unbelievable results in economic development. Since Gov. Ivey took office, Alabama has recruited more than $12 billion in investments.
Just in the last month Germany based ID Plastic, which manufactures a variety of technical plastic products, choose Auburn for its first North American plant.
Also, in Auburn, South Korean Shinhwa Group announced plans to invest $42 million to open a manufacturing plant for automotive parts.
Enviva Announced $175 million to construct a wood pellet production plant in Sumter County which will provide a much-needed economic boost to West Alabama.
Carvana a leading e-commerce platform for buying and selling used cars, announced their plans to invest more than $40 million to construct an Alabama distribution and fulfillment center, creating over 450 jobs in Bessemer.
In Attala Koch Foods company unveiled plans to invest more than $50 million to establish a state-of-the-art grain storage and distribution facility.

Gov. Ivey’s economic development crown jewel is Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA, which represents a 1.6-billion-dollar investment, which will employ up to 4,000 workers producing as many as 300,000 vehicles annually in the Tennessee Valley. Projections call for close to a billion dollars in additional investment and 2,000 added employees by companies supporting this venture.

Gov. Ivey recognizes that when the economy is strong and unemployment is low, the real challenge is matching those individuals who need further preparation to enter the workforce. Through the governor’s apprenticeship expansion efforts, she is positioning the workforce development programs across the state to work in the best interests of all Alabamians.
Just as Gov. Ivey is working to overcome the state’s obstacles, she wants to assist all Alabamians in overcoming their own personal barriers and find a path to a high paying personally fulfilling career.
