Jared Polis and Mike Johnston continue to disappoint on the campaign trail.
At the recent Colorado state assembly, Democrat delegates overwhelmingly rejected their candidacies in favor of Cary Kennedy and the “far-left shift” in the party she represents.
Following this event, Colorado political analysts have begun to rate Kennedy as the front-runner in the race.
Now, in a full repudiation of the centrism of Hickenlooper years, even the Democrat establishment is beginning to line up behind Kennedy.
Earlier today, Kennedy announced she has secured the endorsement of Ken Salazar, a titan of Colorado Democrat politics, who has served as a U.S. senator, secretary of the interior under President Obama, and chair of Hillary Clinton’s White House transition team.
With Polis and Kennedy already struggling to attain base enthusiasm, the Salazar endorsement may indicate the Democrat establishment is beginning to jump ship from their flailing candidacies.
