GOP Governor Brad Little of Idaho is taking major action to combat opioid and substance abuse in his state.
Through an executive order, Governor Little has established an advisory group to ensure that Idaho is investing in the most effective strategies and programs to combat opioid abuse. This group will include representatives from a variety of statewide agencies, including the Department of Health & Welfare, Idaho State Police, Idaho Indian Tribes, the State Department of Education, and others. The Governor also plans to direct state agencies to do more to fight opioid and substance abuse, raising awareness of the issue within his own administration.
