Governor Tom Wolf said on a Pittsburgh radio show that his wife dropped off his mail-in ballot for the recent municipal elections, which violates election law.
During the interview, Wolf was asked if he had voted in person on election day.
“I didn’t show up in person at the polls. We voted a couple weeks ago, actually,” Wolf said. “My wife actually dropped it off personally two weeks ago, so it’s there.”
Pennsylvania Representative Seth Grove (R) tweeted the sound from the interview.
According to Spotlight PA, it is illegal under state law for anyone other than the voter from returning a mail-in ballot, and is punishable by up to one year in prison, a fine of up to $1,000, or both.
Grove also said that the governor's actions would have been legal if Wolf had signed HB 1300, which Gove sponsored.
