On Thursday, Nov. 19, Gov. Ducey announced the state will begin awarding additional Cares Act money to K-12 school districts and charter schools in Arizona.
Districts will begin receiving allocations of a $370 million fund, which schools can use felixibily. Schools can increase teacher salaries, improve distance learning, acquire technology for teachers and students, enhance sanitation and even purchase Personal Protection Equipment.
Ducey says these funds are an addition to previous funding from earlier in March. In total, more than $716 million in COVID-19 relief money has been directed to help Arizona schools.
“We know this year has placed enormous stresses across the educational system,” said Gov. Ducey. “Whether it’s in-person, online or other options, Arizona will continue to make sure our schools, teachers, parents and students have the resources they need.”
