GOP Governor Larry Hogan is committed to bringing jobs and expanding opportunity for working Maryland families.
This week Governor Hogan signed legislation to pave the way for a major expansion to his More Jobs for Marylanders initiative to the state’s federally-designated Opportunity Zones, in an effort to “supercharge investment and make Maryland’s 149 Opportunity Zones the most competitive” in the nation. The legislation will also allow jurisdictions to offer property tax credits – on top of the already competitive federal incentives – for vacant properties in Opportunity Zones that are put back into use.
Governor Hogan has focused on growing Maryland’s economy and putting people to work, with over 120,000 new jobs created since he took office. His Opportunity Zone expansion is just the latest example of his work to make Maryland a better place to live and work.
