We now officially know how much Gov. Cuomo received for his disgusting and possibly criminal book “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons From the COVID-19 Pandemic.”
$5 million.
Was it worth it, Governor?
When I first learned he was writing it, I thought it was a joke. It would’ve been a perfect satire headline for the Babylon Bee:
“Governor Cuomo writes book congratulating himself while simultaneously helping to kill off thousands of seniors in nursing homes.”
But, the joke was on us, and the nightmare is actually true.
My husband lost both his mother and father in separate elder-care facilities last spring. So while Cuomo was trying to sell his lies on a page to the highest bidder, a COVID-19 fire was spreading through nursing homes where our most vulnerable lived.
We now know his health department allowed more than 9,000 COVID-positive patients back into those facilities and we lost over 15,000 seniors despite his administration’s lengths to cover up the true death toll.
Cuomo knew the body count would hurt his efforts to sell his memoir, so he and his henchmen lied, bullied and threatened others to keep it quiet. It also looks like Cuomo used state resources and employees to help him write the book. Hundreds of those pages were based on lies.
My only hope is that this book that profited off the deaths of our loved ones is used in a court of law against him. Perhaps it could even be considered under the Son of Sam law which keeps criminals from profiting from the publicity of their crimes.
There’s no question that for families that lost loved ones, this book of pure fiction deserves to be filed under the true crimes section.
