Corvallis Gazette-Times Endorses Knute Buehler For Oregon Governor: “It’s Time For Change In Salem”

Noting that “it’s time for change in Salem,” the Corvallis Gazette-Times has endorsed Republican Knute Buehler for Oregon governor.

The RGA writes:

Noting that “it’s time for change in Salem,” the Corvallis Gazette-Times has endorsedRepublican Knute Buehler for Oregon governor. This is the third major endorsement Buehler has received in just the past week, following endorsements from The Oregonian, the state’s largest newspaper, as well as the Portland Tribune.

The Corvallis Gazette-Times writes that under incumbent Democrat Governor Kate Brown, Oregon has “been stuck in neutral, with little progress being made on many of the key issues facing the state,” including the failing education system and the pension crisis. Brown “has been maddeningly vague about how she would deal with issues such as these.”

In contrast, Knute Buehler  “has specifics” on how he would improve education and help Oregon get back on the right track.

The Corvallis Gazette-Times concludes that Buehler “would bring a focused vision to the governor’s office that Brown has been unable or unwilling to muster. It’s time for change in Salem. Buehler is the candidate best positioned to bring that change.”
