Per the Washington Free Beacon:
Richard Cordray labeled Ohio Republicans as "Vichy Republicans," a reference to Nazi collaborators in France during World War II.
Cordray, the Democratic candidate for governor, made the comment during an event at the Allen County Democratic Party Women's Club on March 8 in Lima, Ohio, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Cordray was complaining about how the "philosophy" of Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich and the Republican state legislature didn't bring people together to solve problems. He went on to reference the fact that the overwhelming majority of local officials in Ohio are Republicans and complained they haven't spoken out against Kasich and the state legislature.
He compared the local Republicans to Nazi collaborators using the term "Vichy Republicans."
