AZ Governor Doug Ducey Takes Action to Fill Gaps in Border Wall

The Yuma Sector has been a hotspot for illegal crossings.

The Biden Border Crisis, unprecedented in scope, has been raging on for more than a year and a half. During his first 100 days in office, President Biden issued scores of immigration-related executive orders – including an order to halt construction of the border wall.

With multiple border wall gaps, the Yuma Sector in Arizona has been a hotspot for illegal border crossings.

In one week alone last month, Border Patrol agents in the sector apprehended more than 100 illegal immigrants who are also convicted felons and migrants from 46 countries.

Then, earlier this month, the Department of Homeland Security announced that it is preparing to quickly end the Trump-era “Remain in Mexico” program and will no longer send asylum-seekers back across the border as they await decisions on their applications.

It is expected that this move will result in a massive surge in illegal crossings.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, fed up win the Biden administration’s inaction to secure the border despite recent promise to fill border wall gaps, has taken immediate action.

Last week, Arizona began filling gaps in the Yuma Sector border wall using 60-foot-long and 9-foot-tall shipping containers stacked on top of each other, which they plan to top with 4 fee of razor wire.

With illegal immigration and drug and human smuggling numbers reaching record heights, GOP governors have been leading the charge to tackle the Biden Border Crisis head on.

Back in April, 26 GOP governors joined forces to launch the “American Governors Border Strike Force” aimed at enhancing intelligence sharing, combating human smuggling and drug trafficking through improved interdiction, and keeping an eye on cybersecurity issues.

In recent months, Arizona and Texas have been sending buses of asylum seekers from the southern border to Washington, D.C. and New York City, to bring this crisis to the doorstep of those who’ve supported the Biden administration’s immigration agenda and send a message that this crisis must be addressed.

Stand with bold Republicans leaders like Arizona Governor Doug Ducey and Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who are out front in the fight to END the Biden Border Crisis.
