Arizona GOP Governor Doug Ducey Stands Up To Extremist Calls To Abolish ICE

Arizona GOP Governor Doug Ducey is standing up to the left’s extremist calls to “abolish ICE” in a new op-ed.

The RGA writes:

Arizona GOP Governor Doug Ducey is standing up to the left’s extremist calls to “abolish ICE” in a new op-ed, defending the agency’s efforts to protect national security and keep Arizona communities safe. Just yesterday, Arizona Democrat gubernatorial candidate David Garcia again joined the radical left and called for abolishing ICE.

Ducey writes in USAToday that, “As a border state governor who wakes up every day and goes to sleep every night with the safety and security of Arizona citizens at the top of mind, I want to be clear — this call to abolish ICE is not only wrong — it is reckless, and puts the people of my state and others in direct threat.”

Ducey notes that last year alone, “ICE agents arrested nearly 5,000 members of violent gangs.”

“For Arizonans, border security is critical,” said Governor Ducey. “And that’s because, at the end of the day, it’s about national security. That’s something we should all be able to agree on, no matter our party affiliation.”
